Biography

Andrew Haire (b. 1991, Northern Ireland) is an emerging artist who lives and works in Belfast.  He graduated with a BA in Fine Art gaining first class honours from the University of Ulster (2013).  Haire focuses on the classical subject matter of landscape painting but viewed through the prism of today’s increasingly dynamic digitised modern world. Using acrylic paint on Canvas, He produces highly layered works in which his two juxtaposed themes of the natural and synthetic come together to produce dreamlike compositions which are left open to interpretation.

Since graduating Haire has exhibited regularly including group shows at the MAC Belfast, the Waterfront Hall, the Engine Room Gallery, Queen Street Studios and most recently at the Royal Ulster Academy’s annual exhibition in the Ulster Musuem (2019). He has also had solo exhibitions including “Haze” at The Market Place Gallery, Armagh (2014) and “Chronicle” at Ards Arts Centre(2016). Over the years he has won a number of awards including Northern Ireland support for individual artist award   (2014) and (2018), The Royal Ulster Academy award for outstanding student (2013) and has been a finalist in Northern Ireland Young artist of the year (2015) and (2019).
